Movie Review: G.I Joe: Retaliation

G.I Joe: Retaliation . Official Poster

You can read the movie synopsis here (for spoiler alert) and watch the trailer here.

I have two words for the movie. "AMAZING.....ly disappointing".

How dare them kill Duke just like that? Honestly, until now, I still cannot believe of the fact that Duke simply died in the movie. All in all the movie was great of course. Bruce Willis and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson were there, of course it would be awesome. The graphics were excellent and the fighting scenes, too! But personally, I declare the movie poster a scam. (No offense guys.)

The fans were made believe to see their favorite Channing Tatum and experience once again his awesomeness like that in G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra. I was seriously disappointed. The whole moment after Duke was declared dead, I was expecting that it was just a "make believe"; that there will be a twist in the movie; that he would show up on the later scenes since he's actually alive, like something with the help of technology or anything can bring him back to life even from an inch to death. Until the movie ended, I waited in vain.

I don't also get the essence of the two new lady characters in the movie. Personally, I don't even know them as actresses. I prefer the ladies from the part 1, Scarlet and Anna. They were better than the new ones. Or if I may suggest, I would like Maggie Q to play the part of the ninja girl.

Now, let's not deal about the negatives. My favorite character among the new ones is Firefly. He really has cool and unique techniques. I love the way he created his explosives and he seemed really strong, too.

Fireflies, ex-Joe

Next is Storm Shadow. I love how he was able to flip to the good side. He and Snake Eyes look really cool in one team though they didn't have a good start.

Storm Shadow, a new Joe

My most favorite part of the movie is when the three survivors made it to Bruce Willis' house. I love looking at his simply dangerous house. The way he hides his guns, advanced firearms, explosives, and tanks is the coolest of them all. I would love to have a house like that; one that has secret drawers and cool places to hide things and stuffs.

But still, I was disappointed.

I expected to see much from this face during the movie. Oh Duke!

Duke (Channing Tatum) looks so cute is this picture.

Nice review Shahara. The movie looks cool, the action does provide some entertainment, but the characters are boring, the story is a mess, the dialogue is poorly written and the acting is just effortless.
