About Me & This Blog

I love summer! I love beachin'.

am Shahara C. Rosco and this is my blog. I blog about anything I love—from new Arts and Crafts Materials to new memorable experiences or even dates. I love funny people coz they make this world a better place to live. Above all, HAPPINESS is all I want. They say if you want to be happy always, all you need is to take care of the people that make you happy. And for all I know, the joy and successes that I am in right now are also brought by the different people around me and not just by my own.
I love hanging out with my friends, may it be indoor or outdoor. I can talk and tell you stories the whole day as much as I can listen on the stories that you share. I love to meet new people and make new friendships but you cannot expect to experience the best sides of me when you only see me for the first time, even the second time. Most of the time, I don’t believe in, “What you see is what you get.” Coz for me, “There’s something more than meets the eye…”

I love ADVENTURE…actually, I always crave for adventure. But as of now, my parents limit me to some adventures because of the risks—when of course, the world is full of risks—but someday I’ll earn my ultimate freedom and at the same time resources for the different cool and fun adventures that await me.

As much as I love adventure and I love to be outdoors and always on-the-go, I also don’t like being sun-tanned. I really believe that I look best with fair skin. And I believe that it would be a lie if someone normal would say that he or she doesn’t care about how he or she looks. Engk! Utuin mo lola mo teh! And everyone is maarte about something. Ako, I don’t like super hot na environment; I don’t like dusty areas, OA kasi yung nose ko, sneeze ako agad; I don’t like people na KJ. HAHA. Who love them naman, diba?

look for me?!

BLOG HISTORY.

I started this blog when I was second year high school and my purpose was just to establish a mini online bulletin—for updates, announcements, hangout schedules, parties, group chat, etc—during our Computer classes. The earliest posts were simply about my barkadas and nonsense thoughts when I’m bored. I can say they really were not presentable enough, I wanted to delete them but on my mind is “Sayang…memories ko yun noon hindi pa ako nag-iisip masyado, post dito, post doon lang.” So, I decided to keep them. And, sorry na lang sa mga makakabasa ng walang kentang mga post na yun. Haha!

my bestfriend and I way back 2008

Later on, I changed the name into “Shahara~Life is Amazing. God is Amazing.” And I started to post about my daily or weekly activities including school events and friendly hangout to my first times. And last 2012, I decided to change my blog name into BONES IN THE CASTLE. Why? It is because it’s been 15 years—since year 4 up to now that I’m 19 years young—that I had been wishing get bigger…literally get bigger. Within those 15 years, I had always been complaining about my weight and super skinny body. I’ve done a lot of efforts like taking meds and working out to gain weight but they simply don’t work (provided that I eat A LOT of course, it just isn’t obvious). I see myself as BONES and SKIN (but a lovely one…wag ka nang papalag!) and even though I don’t literally live inside a castle, I still think I do because I have lived and am living a happy life in the places that I have stayed. So, every place that I’ve stepped on in this Earth is my CASTLE and it gets bigger every time I’ve been to new places. There ~ BONES IN THE CASTLE.

LIFE STORY. (skip mo na to, kung di ka interesado sa drama ko)

Ever since I was young, I was trained to be a competitive student. (Hay naku. I’m bragging na…skip skip.) I’ve been to different competitions like drawing, dance contests, academics, or even literary. I wanted to excel in such aspects. Academic Contests—Math, English, Science, Filipino; Socio/Extra-curricular Contests—Hip Hop, Pop Dance, Folk Dance, Ethnic Dance, Dance Theater, Drama; Literary/Public Speaking Contest—essay, journalism, smart talking, extemporaneous talk, storytelling; Leadership and Officership—I was the President of almost all major Clubs during high school;  you name it, I’ve tried them all. I even wanted to engage/train myself in singing but my voice can’t. HAHA.

my collection of medals as of second year high school

I always aimed to be the best and I am not super comfortable to think that someone would beat me. I graduated as Valedictorian during elementary and high school and received a lot of awards. It was like collecting Medals, certificates, and awards was my hobby. Yes, I was weird.

TURNING POINT. But later part of my high school years, I realized a lot. Why do I need to pressure myself to get all these awards? Why do I try so hard to be the best in everything when it isn’t even possible? That was the time that I started to be seriously crazy. I spent more time hanging out with my friends than staying at home. I learned to become a lovely rebel. I learned to fight back for some freedom. I received a lot of scolding from my father—since he’s the one left to take care of me while my Mom was away. I even had my first boyfriend during my rebellious days.

My drive in being the best in everything really was on its lowest level. I even wanted to transfer to different school in a faraway place and start a new life with zero stars in my reputation book, like nobody knows me. My Papa said he understood how I felt, however, he didn’t let me. He said I was just troubled. I thought about everything…I thought about it hard. Then I realized that it wasn’t a wise move. If I quit at that point and let other people have my achievements instead of me, everyone will blame something, or worse, someone. And for those who knew, they would really blame my boyfriend. I could already see the aftermath of my move. And I won’t give them the satisfaction of seeing the fruits of my hard work slip through my hands.

LAST PART. I decided to strive hard to still continue what I’ve started and do my best to be the best and I was successful. You can see my box of early achievements containing my medals, certificates and trophy at home. BUT. There’s a BIG BUT. But I promised myself to enjoy my college years and not to be the same awkward, conscious, and pressured girl way back elementary and early high school. I promised to value what’s more important like friendships and love than grades and scores. But that doesn’t mean I permit myself to be so flippant about my studies. Basta wag lang masyadong i-pressure ang sarili na maging the best.

WHO AM I NOW.

As of today, April 7, 2013, I am an Accountancy Student of Notre Dame of Dadiangas University. I am very hopeful that this would be my last year in school and I’m hoping to pass my CPA Board Exam next year. I-pray nyo ako, friends! Currently, I am a Student Intern at JBS Accounting Office.

I love sketching beautiful faces :)

Actually, Accountancy isn’t really my first choice or second or even third. For all I know, my passion has always been in Arts and not in Business. I love Arts and Crafts. I actually have two courses as my Top 1. BS Architectural Engineering because I wanna build and design my own dream house and AB Films because I wanna make people laugh and cry, inspire and even teach them lessons through my movies. However, I was discouraged to take Architecure because of the fact that I’m a girl and blaaa blaaa this and blaaa blaaa that. And, AB Films as a course is a very expensive one, and my parents won’t approve of sending me to Cebu and study Films there because they say I have a little chance in landing into my desired job as a director. And I honestly understood them.  They were just concerned.

But I cannot deny the joy that I experienced and soon to experience during my stay in NDDU. I met an amazing set of friends who love me as their sister. There, I also met the love of my life, my boyfriend (for the record, he is the second one).

Life is Happy. Andaming smiles araw-araw.

So far, ito ako. Nagbabago kasi mas natututo.

One time, during first year college, our teacher asked us to create a dream board.
This is my dream board. It is a back to back 1/2 illustration board. I happened to have the biggest dream board of all coz I have so many dreams and not everything is in there. Yet I am planning on pursuing them all. Wish me luck!

And when I say I love the beach, I really really do.

That day was a crazy day.
I saw my girl crush at KFC and sat adjacent to their table. Whoah.

I am a huge fan of The Grudge, too!

Tweety is my favorite character among the six and
I was so happy that Arej gave me this as a birthday gift.

I was really surprised, more like shocked, to see these quotes in one of the school magazines. I made them myself actually and they were simply my blog description and I didn't even know someone used them.
However, I'm still glad that they find it cute. Wew.

GIF photo during one of the most unforgettable nights. The night that marks me legal. Ayeee.
