Valentine's Day 2013

I know it's kinda late but I still want to share to you how my Valentine's Day went.

It's the fourth day of the University Week. I really tried my best to go to school early to witness the Quiz Bowl in which my boyfriend happened to be one of the representatives for our College. I wasn't able to start the contest. I just managed to see from the mid average round up to the awarding in which they won Champion for this year’s Quiz Bowl. Yehey! And I’m so proud of him. First thing I did was to congratulate him and we shake hands—though it’s not really a surprising thing for them to be Champion, like we’re getting used to it already. Then Ate Jo, one of his teammates said something. It was not super clear but from what I got, it’s all about a surprise. And she smiled at me. I wondered what it was all about. After a beat, my boyfriend handed me a thornless rose and greeted me Happy Valentines—which reminded me of last year’s Valentine’s Day which was really unusual.

I also gave him a little something. However, the gift was an epic fail. I was supposed to give him a memory card containing some edited videos way back when we were still on our Trial Version. I actually deleted everything in jthat memory card however, during the viewing, it appeared that I wasn’t able to delete everything and I felt disappointed for that flaw. Aigoo.

Technically, we had our early Valentine’s Day date the previous day which happened to be my birthday which also means that the very Valentine’s Day would be spent with my ever best buddies.

During the afternoon, I chose not to attend the Hiyas ng Notre Dame pageant. Instead, I had a date with my best buddies. We watched a romantic performance of the violinists playing love songs, classic English and also OPM’s. Oh how I love to learn how to play the violin. We couldn’t afford not to smile—for their every stroke makes my heart flutters with joy. It’s as if I fall in love all over again.

The mall happened to be really busy that night just like I expected. I saw hundred of sweet couple faces and happy family smiles with their red shirts or dresses joining the celebration. Everyone was happy. It’s like a night to forget all the troubles in the world that only happy thoughts are allowed.

We also witnessed a lady—by her looks, she must be already in her twenties and a professional—standing by the flower boxes near the dancing fountain. We bet she was waiting for her man. We also waited like her, excited to see what was about to happen. Then after several seconds, we saw a man approached towards her holding a beautiful bouquet of big red roses hidden behind him. The he tapped his lady who was facing back at him during the moment. And just as the lady turns around, he showed him the bouquet of roses with a sincere greeting of Happy Valentine’s Day. I, too, was touched of the man’s effort. And it’s obvious that the lady was really surprised. They were such a lovely Valentine view.

Then we had an amazing dinner at Hap-Chan Restaurant. It’s a Chinese Resto and it’s also my first time to dine in there. We ordered roasted chicken, beef asado, steak, fried garlic rice and I forgot the others. And I can say, they were really good and the dinner was awesome. We were also the last customers who left the store.

After dinner, they sent me home and they also chose to stay for a bit and we ate my yummy birthday cake from yesterday. Hmmm. It was really good you know. And that was how I spent this year’s Valentine’s Day—a day worth remembering.
